ABOUT Renee

I have always loved to write. Even as a young child I toted my pencils and pads wherever I went. I enjoyed writing stories and envisioned myself becoming a writer when I grew up. I just never dreamed I would become a technical writer! Truth is, I love doing research and writing words to help people. My focus is to help you become a better communicator because everything in life involves some form of communication.

Something as simple as smiling at a stranger communicates volumes. Nonverbal communication is so important because body language, gestures, and facial expressions convey the emotions behind the message.

Being able to speak well begins by thinking before you let the words come out of your mouth. It also means using appropriate language, courteous words, and constructive phrases that enhance your conversations.

Listening is the most important component of communicating, because if you don't listen well, you won't know how to respond well.

Effective communication is covered in every book I write.

I have a BSS degree in Organizational Psychology from Ohio University. My background, before becoming a fulltime writer, was working for BellSouth (now AT&T) as a marketing manager. My responsibilities included employee training and development. My favorite tasks were writing training material. Thankfully, I finally get to be what I always wanted to be when I grew up and I get to do it fulltime.
